Meet Robin

I'm a Baby Boomer.

I was born two years after World War II ended in a mining community on the West Coast of Tasmania - Queenstown.

Since then, I've had what I feel is a wonderful life. I won the parent lottery; my parents treated me well, looked after me, and gave me all the love and affection one could wish for.

Like most other people of my era, I completed 10 years of formal education before leaving school and setting out on a career. Only those who wanted to go to university completed 12 years.

During the Vietnam War era, I served with the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) following in my father's footsteps. He'd served in the RAAF's 10 Squadron in the United Kingdom during WWII on anti-submarine patrols in Short Sunderland flying boats.

After completing my RAAF service, I joined the Tasmania Police Force where I met an amazing woman who has been my wife and best friend for over 50 years. I could never believe how lucky I was to find such a wonderful, intelligent woman who would agree to marry me.

We have two adult children and a grandson.

After marrying, and with the support of my wife Christina, I returned to evening college to adult matriculate. After many additional years of study at three different universities, I earned a collection of  degrees that helped me considerably with my adult education, training management, and human resources careers. My last job was as Head Lecturer/Manager of a Prisoner Education and Training Department at a Correctional Centre.

I also ran an online documentation consultancy producing and proofreading instructional media, reviewing grant applications and requests for proposals, and selling ebooks for 15 years.

Now, closer to the end of the path than the beginning, I enjoy good health and happy retirement. I spend a lot of time reading what's happening throughout the planet and writing comments or articles.

Life is a great adventure. Don't waste a moment of it!
